A beautiful piece of dark walnut. Flowing grain and rich color. Perhaps a Christmas tree.
There are a few inclusions, cracks and holes in the wood. All are stable and add to the piece.
This tree grew behind Lewis Brothers Grocery Store, in Crystal Springs, Arkansas. Lewis Brothers Store is a backwoods market with a long and storied past. The wood was given to me by some good friends. The tree had a struggle for life growing through the roof of a shed and after being cut the wood lay in a moist environment for years. The wood from that tree was exceptionally beautiful.
