The cozy comfort of a high altitude cabin on the shore of a small lake, amid the grandeur of the mountains, brought this to mind. A peaceful place to retreat to where life is safe, simple and close to nature.
The natural staining and spaulting and the the ink like, dark margin lines add the texture of terrain to the mountain scene..

This was carved from the "county line" ash tree. The cabin and small trees are detachable but are carved from the exact part of the wood where they sit. If you look very close you can see that the grain matches.
