This is all about how the two relate to each other. Isn't it?

I like the simple expressiveness of this piece. It is carved from some large oak beams which lay, stacked in a field for years before I made these. I cut the trees from my farm, grew shiitake mushrooms on the limbs and tops and sawed the trunks into large beams to use to construct a pavilion, on the banks of the creek at an old home site beneath a big walnut tree. The mushrooms were good, (I sold most of them in Washington D.C.), The pavilion is a beautiful relaxing place to sit in a rocking chair and listen to the creek and I like this sculpture too. So, a good result, I have to think.
